Last Couple of Days in Cancun – Photo shoots, Catamaran, and the Sea

Hello again, Beautiful!

I will be condensing my last two, full, days in Cancun into one post. Stick around a bit because I will include my Travel With Me video!

On Saturday, our third day, we put aside time for a photo shoot with trucker caps my sister specially had made. Other than the the birthday girl’s cap, which said “birthday girl”, our caps said “Cancun Crew”. Luckily the same person who took a few photos of us the first day fit us into his schedule for the shoot. We took the photos on this day and went to a Coco Bongo Show, which was pretty awesome.

Here are all the ladies in all black bathing suits. The photo shoot started out at the beach. I loved mostly the water on this side of Cancun; it was so blue and so clear. We did quite a few shots here.

We took a good amount of photos while in the water. This is me in the middle trying to splash everyone. There was a need for some fun during the photo shoot. I tried to get my sister, but as you will see I will be tripping and falling into the water. You’ll see it all unfold in the next few pictures.

My sister laughs and points. Although I tried to splash her with water, pointing is rude.

This was shot at the infinity pool at the resort. I’m the weirdly orange one to the far right. You can see our special made caps on. I actually love trucker caps so those hats were awesome. Thanks  Laura (my other sister)!

I didn’t get a photo of us at the swim up bar but this is some of us after we swam back up. Like always, I am the odd one out…Anyway, you’ll see a snippet of the swim up bar in my video.

Azur

We had dinner at Azur which is another restaurant located in the hotel. It was a night to wear whatever we wanted. This is right next to the pools. They kind of messed up on our reservation so they placed us in the lounge chairs next to the pools. I guess I went a little crazy with my highlight, but I LOVE it!

Everyone was pretty tired at this point but we had tickets to Coco Bongo. I did a highlighted neutral look this night. I actually really like this dress I wore. I got it from Forever 21.

Photo taken on Albatross

Here is the entire gang on the catamaran. We rented a private tour and boarded the Don Manuel of Albatross. Honestly, I was hoping to use the sails more but we were on a schedule. I was wearing a Forever 21 bathing suit under the Google T and jean shorts. The cap I was wearing was purchased at West Marine. I am also wearing Quay x Desi Sunglasses, “High Key”. These sunglasses are pretty popular. I love the flat and large frames. Unlike most sunglasses, they are a perfect fit for my square face shape.

We made a stop in the ocean to go snorkeling! These types of activities are so easy but so exciting. I love animals and I love exploring the sea. Of course it would have been nice to spend more time in the ocean exploring other areas on Isla Mujeres. I did expect to see stingrays and turtles but there were none in the area. 🙁 However, we saw beautiful fish and underwater statues which are shown in my video!

Isla Mujeres

We got to Isla Mujeres  after we went snorkeling. Our tour guide took us around a bit here to shop and explore.

Nurse Shark

We went to another area on Isla Mujeres to have lunch and they had a little area to visit these Nurse Sharks. I felt pretty badly for them to be in a little area all day but I’m hoping they feed them very well. They were so cute!

Also, there were other activities here! We hopped on the paddle boards and the kayaks. That’s my cousin Linda in the photo. I actually wanted to do so many activities that it slipped my mind to go around to look for souvenirs!

Hidden Garden Restaurant, Live Aqua

Then that night, we all had dinner at Hidden Garden in the hotel. It was a nice little area with dim lighting and beautiful outdoor decorations. This was absolutely not planned but my entire outfit including the shoes are all from Forever 21. Furthermore, I used my gold wallet (Neiman Marcus)  as a clutch almost the entire trip. Everyone wore long dresses or skirts this night.

This was the Tuna. It was delicious!
The Orange Chicken

First, to start this story everyone was thinking about the buffet we had the first night we arrived. Second, they served very little portions of food here. We could have ordered more food but we were all already thinking about the food at Siete (the buffet) so we called it a night here at Hidden Garden. It’s really funny because only some of us went to the buffet and most of us didn’t get to it. I believe we had ordered more room service that night.

Actually, we had breakfast at Siete in the morning and it was just as delicious as the dinner there. That pretty wraps up the trip! Let me know if you enjoyed my journal-style posts and photos! I really enjoyed spending time sharing the details of my trip! Also, give me a heads up if you’d like to know how I packed, or what make up I packed!

Finally, please enjoy the video I have put together! If you like the content and would like to see more of the videos I will post, please subscribe and “like” the Travel With Me video. Thank you and until next week!

Second Day In Cancun

We ordered breakfast from In-Room-Dining the night before for the next morning. Everything was inclusive so we thought we’d go a little nuts on room service. We had a Flyboard appointment at around noon and were getting into a lot of activities so we ordered breakfast pretty early. Breakfast came to the room 8:30a-9a.

In Room Dining Breakfast

My sister, my cousin and I got traditional American breakfasts with fruit plates of grapefruit, papaya, melon, honeydew, and watermelon. It was delicious! We also had a basket of pastries and those were not disappointing either. I got pineapple juice and it was incredibly refreshing. We had a nice relaxing morning having breakfast and watching Friends.

It was so nice! I’d go back just for the in-dining breakfast!

Flyboard at Aquaworld

Here I am on the Flyboard. You are suppose keep straight while underwater and lock your knees to propel out of the water. It was difficult the very first moments because I needed to turn over to face the water and kick the board straight under me while water was shooting out from the bottom. I got the hang of it but my legs kept floating right back up. It gets easier after a little bit, once I got to balancing on the board. The thing is the boots were a bit too big for my feet, it wasn’t easy keeping my little feet flat down. I would also like to have more control over how high I go but the guide wasn’t very cooperative. Aquaworld was the place we booked most of our excursions. They have a ton of things to do and decent service.

Jetskis at Aquaworld

Here is a quick snapshot of our Jet ski video. It was so much fun. It’s the only place I can’t get a speeding ticket!

This is a photo of me and my cousin, Berlin. It was one of the uniform nights where we were to dress in all white and the birthday girl in her color of choice.

Here are all the ladies in white and the birthday girl in yellow. It was actually a really funny moment; many of the ladies wanted to leave room to show the cars we were leaning on. They were two white Rolls Royce with license plates that said “Aqua 1” and “Aqua 2”. The photo looked wonky so of course we repositioned ourselves.

We went to a place downtown called The City. The place was large with multiple tiers of VIP areas. We had a spot to ourselves but it wasn’t the best arrangement because a lot of people from other parties had to go in and out and needed to pass through our area to get out to the restroom or exit. It was a bit frustrating but I think we got down a system to let people pass. They had a little show there with a few performers in light up costumes. The music was okay. There weren’t many places to dance in the VIP areas.

Well that was my second day in Cancun. We tried to fit quite a bit in the few days we were there and I hope you are enjoying the story so far! 🙂 Please let me know if you like these updates. Maybe for the next trip I’ll do one big post with a bunch of pictures. I thought I’d ease into it and not overwhelm you.
